Alumni Charity Initiative
Dear AIBEcers,
All of you must be wondering about the progress of our charity project, so here are the results.
The New Year Raffle and the New Years Alumni Pary helped us to collect 34,800 rub. in total. The proceeds were used for several occasions. 10,000 rub. were spent on the New Year Fireworks at the Republican Children's Hospital. That created a great atmosphere and brought in festive mood to all the kids staying in the hospital during the holiday season. Another 8,000 rub. went to the household and sanitary needs of the Hematology Department. And finally 17,000 rub. were transferred last week to help a little girl named Katia Kolesnikova from Penza, who suffers from a severe case of scoliosis.
We will be following Katia's progress and see what else we can do to help her and other children in need.
Again, thank you all very much for your kind support and participation. We hope to hear more from you. Don't forget about our regular alumni meetings, which you will be informed about in advance.

AIBEc Entrance Exam
Dear Prospective Students,
If you are interested in studying at AIBEc, you have a chance to lower your cost of study by taking Semiannual AIBEc Entrance
exam on APRIL 12, 2008, 10 am at AIBEc.
Please, download the registration form and send it to aibec@aibec.org.
You will also need to bring a copy of your diploma, a copy of your passport and 1 photo (3*4). Exam registration fee is 400 RUB, and it can be paid on the day of the exam.

Alumni club charity initiative
Dear AIBEcers,
AIBEc Alumni Committee continues its charity projects at the Children's Clinical Hospital of Russia.
The 1st of September event was of great success, and it wouldnt have happened without your support. Our next goal is to make sure that the kids with leukemia at the hospital have a fun New Year celebration.
AIBEc office is accepting donations, as well as ideas on what else we can do from students, alumni and their companies.

Negotiations and Dispute Resolution:
This course covers the theoretical and practical aspects of negotiations and includes many case studies and exercises. You can download the syllabus here.

Managerial Accounting:
This course provides students with a thorough review of most Managerial Accounting issues of importance to many organizations such as Cost Allocation, Activity Based Costing, Budgeting, Standard Costing, Just In Time Inventory and many other topics. You can download the syllabus here.

Sales Management:
This course covers both theoretical and practical aspects of sales management, including topics such as sales forecasting, demand forecasting, types of sales and other sales issues. WE NEED YOUR HELP!
Daria Panina, AIBEc visiting professor from Texas A&M University, US is participating in multinational research project that investigates differences in organizational commitment around the world. This is the first large-scale project in this area of research that will include the data from Russia.
To make this happen we need your participation. Please answer the questions both in English and in Russian, it will take only 15-minutes of your time, but your contribution will be invaluable for promotion of ubiased view on the current attitudes and values of new generation of Russian professionals.

Good Job, AIBEcers!!!
We would like to congratulate AIBEc's Am Cham Case Competition teams for their excellent performance at the Case Competition, which took place on Saturday, April 21.
The Russian Language team (Oksana and Svetlana Timchenko, Aleksey Besfamilnyi, Nadya Nesterova and Michael Senechkin) won the First Place against some tough competition.
The English Language team (Andrey Lagoisky, Svetlana Morozova, Kirill Sokolov, Aleksander Malanichev and Aleksandra Gennadieva) won the Second Place.
AIBEc has won 8 First Place Awards in 9 years - more than any other MBA program in Moscow.
This performance is the result of the hard work by AIBEC's teams (the cases are given only the day before the competition). Their excellent analysis and decision alternatives greatly impressed the Am Cham judges.
Case presentations help students develop their analytical, presentation and teamwork skills. Now is the time to prepare for the next year's Case Competition. AIBEc strongly encourages students to take part in Case Competitions and is ready to provide any assistance.

Upcoming events
All AIBEc students, friends and alumni are invited to the following EVENTS:
APRIL , 21, Saturday, at 11 am., at the Holiday Inn Suschevsky Val (Rizhskaya metro station) AmCham's annual MBA Case Competition will take place. AIBEc has two very fine teams that will participate in this event.
APRIL, 24, Tuesday, at 8 pm., there will be a Special Presentation on Balanced Scorecard. Many of you have had quesions about this performance measurement system that is becoming more popular in Russia. The discussion points are: what is Balanced Scorecard, how it can be implemented, case studies. Special materials will be made available for AIBEc students.
APRIL, 25, Wednesday, at 8 pm.,there will be a presentation by Dr. Oleg Shyrkov who is one of the top people at Standard&Poors in Moscow. The topic will be recent developments in Corporate governance in Russia. The speaker has extensive experience in the sphere.

Financial accounting:
This course provides students with a thorough review of Accounting issues of importance to most organizations, such as Accrual Accounting, Bad Debts, Inventories, Investments, Cash Flows and Ratio Analysis. US GAAP and IAS concepts are emphasized.

Managerial Economics:
Applications of microeconomic theory to business decision making including pricing, demand estimation, cost analysis, competitive and non-competitive market structures.

The Alumni Club arranges a photo-show of students & alumni photos. There are numerous beautiful and unusual places in the World, which the AIBEC students & alumni had visited... We would like to demonstrate to AIBEC community these sites. The show (gallery) will be organized on AIBEc Intranet Web-site

If you decide to participate, you need forward not more than 5 images (jpg format) to aibec.alumni@qmail.com.
Also, you can make hard copy of 20x30 cm size, and give them to AIBEC office or to the initiative group at an alumni club meeting on March, 1.

This semester AIBEc offers a brand new course "Management of
Change" (MC.)
Professor Konstantin Kontor
The course discusses the most widespread, well-known and trendy concepts and practices in modern management. The course is focused on the effective applications in the modern environment, with a special emphasis on unveiling common myths and misunderstandings. The course is based on professors 10 years of experience in the area of corporate and personal consulting in Russia and the Baltics, as well as teaching at the Stockholm School of Economics.

Entrance exam
Competitive entrance exam is going tobe held on December, 9th!
Students who achieve qualifying score on the entrance exam pay reduced tuition.
The exam is similar to GMAT/TOEFL.
Registration for the exam takes place at AIBEc office from 11am to 9pm Mon through Friday, the registration fee is 400 rubles and 2 photos, copy of diploma and passport are needed. Also you may fill out the form in part "Entrance exam".

Job/Career Workshop
On Sat. Oct. 28th at 3pm in the Video Hall at Park Place (Leninskiy pr. 113/1) AIBEc will be hosting its semiannual Job/Career Workshop. This event will include presentations of such companies as:
- Price Watershouse Coopers

- Luxoft
- Stiles and Riabolkabilko Cushman/Wakefield Real Estate firm
- Alfa Capital Investment firm
Each of these companies will do a presentation about career opportunities with their firms. The presentations will be followed by pizza and refreshemnts and an opportunity to meet with the presenters. This is a good opportunity for you to learn about the job market and some ideas on how to develop your career.

NEW! Media and Public relations course
AIBEc is pleased to announce a NEW Media and Public Relations Course, it will begin on October, 14.
This is a new and innovative course that compares the nature of Public Relations in both a Russian and International context. It covers such topics as how a company deals with scandals , how to deal with the media, and the role of PR in government. In addition Many other PR and Media issues will be addressed.
The course instructor, John Harrison is a British citizen who has many years of experience in Public and media Relations. He is the founder of Passport Magazine and was formerly its managing editor. Currently he is the editor of Chinese Real Estate Magazine.

NEW courses at AIBEc
AIBEc is pleased to announce a NEW series of courses in Management education - Business Psychology. It will cover the issues that usually stay beyond the scope of traditional management education. In particular, the courses will discuss the influence of the unconscious on individuals, groups of people, and organizations.
The new course titled "Understanding Unspoken Business Patterns" opens the psychology series at AIBEc. The course instructor, Dr. Ekaterina Mikhailova, is an internationally certified gestalt-trainer, psychodrama practitioner, co-founder and leading counselor of the training institute IGISPP. Dr. Mikhailova is the author of a number of psychology bestsellers including "Vasilisa's Spindler" and "The Trifles of Psychology".

Tuition rates for 2006
Dear AIBEcers!
Because of increasing operating expenses and in order to maintain AIBEc's high standard of Business Education AIBEc will increase the regular tuition per course from 400 s.u. to 450 s.u beginning in the Spring Semester 2006 (the Spring Semester starts on Jan.16)
This is the first tuition increase since June 2000 and AIBEc's tuition is still the lowest for any Enflish language MBA in Moscow.
